At Improv 4 Film & TV Academy, we are a Teesside based Film School offering weekly filmmaking classes during term time, designed especially for children and teens aged 8 to 18. Students are grouped by age and work together in studio-style classes where they get to feel what it is like to be a real filmmaking crew.
From script to screen, our students learn every part of the process:
🎬 Scriptwriting
🎥 Storyboarding & Directing
🎭 Acting for Camera
🎞️ Cinematography & Filming
🎚️ Producing & Crewing
Best of all? Every term, students work as a team to create a brand-new short film project, which they’ll write, shoot, and star in (if they choose to do so)—just like a professional film crew.
🎥 This Term’s Theme : ‘One Shot’
Inspired by the gripping Netflix mini-drama Adolescence—in which one of our talented students starred as ‘Georgie’ in Episode 2, we’re exploring the concept of One Shot.
💡 Is it about taking your one chance at something big? Perhaps this will inspire our young filmmakers story telling.
🎞️ Or is it the ambitious filmmaking technique where a whole story unfolds in one continuous take?
Throughout the term, students will explore both meanings—creatively and practically—while taking part in exciting new challenges during each weekly masterclass.
